• Be sure to remove all your personal items from the vehicle. As per the Department of Transportation (DOT), auto shipping companies are not permitted to carry anything defined as Household Goods. Also, if your vehicle exceeds it’s standard gross weight, you can be accessed a (minimum) $250 overweight fee and such items will not be covered under auto shipping insurance.
• Be sure to leave approximately one-quarter tank of gas in your vehicle. This will allow the driver to move your vehicle as needed during the shipping process. Plus, anything greater than said amount is excessive and could potentially cause a hazardous environment.
• Be sure to take note of the condition of your car. If needed, take photographs of any and all dings, dents, scratches and any other wear and tear to your vehicle as this will be documented on the Bill of Lading provided to you by the WeHaul Autos truck driver.
